Hey Jay,

My girlfirend and I are going to Cario this summer and was wondering if we needed to take special care with her clothing.  Specifcally, will there be an issue if she doesn'tcover her head, wear short sleeved shirdt or a mini-skirt?

Thanks in advance.

Hey John,

I think like most things, it really depends where you are.  In the tourist areas, you will be fine.  Remember, over 20% of Egypt is Christian  – so not every woman follows the Muslim attire.

That said, what I've heard you'll need to watch out for – if not understand is the 'culture' of Muslim men is slight different than in the Western world as it relates to women in public.  Any unescorted woman is likely to be approached or loudly commented upon their body/outfit.  Nothing violet – just something to keep in mind.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
